January 2014:  Exciting news! We are thrilled to announce that our family audience piece, Vrooom!, was awarded a Jim Henson Family Grant by the Jim Henson Foundation.  We are very grateful and excited to continue developing this piece in the year ahead!
This winter we also worked on another prop styling job for a top secret commercial shoot for a popular brand of candy with our friends at Nathan Love

Fall, 2013: Puppet Junction was commissioned by Nathan Love to create an "invisible man" puppet rig for a series of commercials and print ads promoting the re-launch of the 1980's Starter Jacket. The invisible man puppet rig can be seen (or rather, *can't* be seen) modeling the jackets on a billboard in Times Square and in a series of commercials.

June 2013: Puppet Junction's
 new family audience piece, Vrooom!, was performed at the Great Small Works' Toy Theater Festival at St. Ann's Warehouse in DUMBO, Brooklyn. See the show page for more information. 

November 2012: Puppet Junction's Serra Hirsch wins the Best Costume prize of a $10,000  HomeGoods gift card on Live! WIth Kelly and Michael with her costume "Camping Trip." 

Summer 2012:
 Our  full length play, The Dalí Project, performs at the Detroit Institute of Art, August 3-5th.

March, 2012: Puppet Junction is pleased to be building puppets for Making Books Sing's original musical production of The Butterfly, opening at the Mint Theater in April.

December, 2011: 
Puppet Junction was commissioned to create a 5' tall version of the glasses logo of the magazine Nerd Night.

November, 2011: PJ's Serra Hirsch wins the grand prize in a big international costume contest on an awesome costume website. The website gave her a feature page featuring several of her past costumes.

October, 2011: Puppet Junction builds a custom ventriloquist puppet/doll for an independent video project by multi-talented artist Alex Castle.  

August, 2011:  Puppet Junction leads a bilingual French/English puppet building workshop at PS 58 in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn for the children's summer camp Bonjour New York.

October, 2010:
  Puppet Junction builds a giant 12 foot tall puppet of Stephen Colbert (AKA "Fearzilla") for the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear  in Washington, D.C October 30th, 2010.  The Rally was attended by over 215,000 people on the Washington Mall and televised live as a 3-hour special for Comedy Central. September, 2010:
  Puppet Junction builds a giant Cell Phone Puppet for Matt Murphy Productions and TheatreworksUSA's touring show, Virtually Me!

July, 2010:  After an incredible run at St. Ann's in June (see pictures to the right), Serra Hirsch  was invited to present some of the The Dalí Project's props and puppets, as well as one of her toy theaters, "My Neighbor's House," at the Mikhail Zakin Gallery in Demarest, NJ. The works were on display at the gallery from July 26th to September 8th, 2010.   as part of the "Contemporary Puppet Exhibition."   Full details of the exhibition are available here.

June, 2010:
  It's official! The Dalí Project is in Program B of the St. Ann's Puppet Lab (mini festival of new puppet theater).
